Code of Conduct

As a courtesy to players, local residents and other users of the Recreation Ground, all Aylsham Tennis Club Members, visitors and Pay&Play Visitors must adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • On entering the Club and whilst playing tennis, do not cross the back of the courts when a ball is in play.
  • Players must be medically fit to play tennis to their expected levels.  In case of an accident, please note there is a First Aid box (and Accident Book) in the Club Hut, Minor Injuries Unit, Mill Road, Cromer NR27 0BQ tel: 01603 646200, opening hours:  8.00 am – 8.00 pm, Accident and Emergency: Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital:  Colney Lane, Norwich NR4 7UY, tel: 01603 286286. 
  • Appropriate clothes must be worn on the courts.  Tops must be worn at all times.  It is not necessary to wear tennis whites.  Always wear soft-soled non-marking tennis shoes or sports trainers.
  • Noisy and offensive behaviour, including foul language, will not be tolerated.  Repeated poor behaviour may result in exclusion from the Club and from playing as a Pay&Play Visitor following action taken by the Committee or Town Council.
  • Please respect the Club’s facilities.  Sharp toys, roller skates, bicycles and scooters etc are not permitted on the courts.  Please do not damage the fences and nets by leaning on them or climbing/jumping over them.  No animals are allowed on the courts.
  • When you leave the courts please ensure the gate is closed and, if appropriate, locked.  Do not leave litter on the courts – bins are provided on the Recreation Ground.
  • Smoking and chewing gum are forbidden on the courts and in the Club Hut.

Aylsham Tennis Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of its Members and paying Visitors.  The Club believes that it is important that Members, Coaches, Administrators and Parents/Carers associated with the Club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and wellbeing of others.  Serious concerns related to children at the Club should be raised with the Child Protection Officer.  Contact details of Committee Members, the Club's Constitution and other information including safety and disciplinary matters can be found on our Website: www.aylshamtennisclub.co.uk.
